When the Past Comes Back, there is no greater pain,
Just the way that she looks at him drives you insane,
You want to run, to protect your heart,
Little things that she tells him, tears you apart,
What do you do, how do you react,
When all of a sudden
The Past Comes Back.


She tells him she misses him time and time again,
And you feel your heart bleeding, from somewhere within,
She calls unexpectedly, or maybe stops by,
Your heart hurts so bad, you do nothing but cry,
She don't love him like you do, you know for a fact,
But what's left to do When the Past Comes Back


You know he once held her, so close and so tight,
And she was here with him every night,
She chose to change that, to leave him alone,
You showed him true love and made him a home,
It's making you crazy, you just can't hack,
How it rips out your heart
