You leave me now to go far away,
Maybe you will be back someday.
You tell me not to find another,
Alone it's hard to be a mother.

I tried my hardest but you left my sight,
I thought you'd be back the very next night.
I tried to find you to bring you back home,
God I feel so all alone.

I thought it would work from the start,
But you left and broke my heart.
The broken pieces, I tried to seek,
I can't go on, my heart is weak.

I expected a call or a letter or two,
But I received neither, what do I do?
Your love for me, you did not show,
But my love for you, I will not outgrow.

I thought you loved our daughter and me,
I tried everything to make you see.
That I can't be alone for the rest of my life,
So you better say good-bye to your wife.

I can't live in a world of loneliness,
So I'm going to try to find happiness.
If I find it, I'll let you know,
So your love for me will not grow.

You're so far away across the miles,
Next time you see me, I'll be full of smiles.
It is over between you and I,
We have said our last good-bye.
