In a
place that is so swell,
I met a man I loved so well.
He came and took that from me,
And now he's willing to set me free.
I even know the reason why,
The other girl was prettier than I.
I ran right home and laid in bed,
Not a word spoken, not a word said.
My mom came upstairs, the door she broke,
And found me hanging from a rope.
She took a knife and cut me down,
And in my pocket a note she found.
"Dig me a grave and dig it deep,
Marble stone from head to feet.
And on my grave place a dove,
And tell the world I died for love."
