My Daddy and I had a long talk today,
He asked if I blamed him for mommy going away.
He said he knew he hadn't been much of a Dad,
But when mommy left, it had hurt him bad.
Do you wish you had gone with mommy instead?
I crawled upon my Daddy's lap and said:

"Daddy I know I am only age eight,
I'd hear you and mommy argue until late.
Oh Daddy I want you to understand,
I don't need mommy to hold my hand,
I have you and that is plenty enough,
You have the strength for both of us.
I do get scared and I sometimes cry,
And I even ask myself sometimes why.
But Daddy the nights are quiet once again
Like they used to be way back when."
